Excellent locally owned dive shop in Old Bank on Basimento island. They may be a smaller operation, but that's what makes them special. Great personal service. And one of the best for equipment I have found yet. The dive master Joaquin and his wife made the two days of diving fun and safe. Lots of dive spots to choose from. They are easy to get to, just catch a water taxi from Bocas. Thanks guys for two days of amazing diving!
We had an amazing day under water with Joaquin an his wife! The weather was perfect, the equipment was the best we have ever seen before and the two dives with Joaquin were so much fun!! He is a very experienced diver with a lot of knowledge about safety under water, the fish, the sea and the people around! We can recommend diving with him 100%, because we know that you will be in good hands! We even saw our first shark (nurse shark - all good, they are not "shark sharks") and the wreck with its sail still on!! whoohoo! We did two dives with Joaquin! He is very professional, experienced and nice to dive with! He held security high and for us that isn’t so experience with diving, it felt very good to dive with him. The equipment was also new! It was a pleasure diving here
I had a great two tank dive with Juaquin. He has very knowledgeable about the area above and below the water. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a more personal diving experience and don't want to dive with a large group. The price is fair and less than the other dive shop. The equipment was very nice. If I ever return to Bastimentos I will definitely dive with him again. He even took me back to Bocas after the dive in his boat.
Joaquin is an awesome dive instructor! I contacted him through Facebook the night before and got picked up by boat at a hostel on the other side of the island (Bastimentos), which was no problem for him. Did two dives in the morning, both on Joaquin's recommendation, he's a expert of the area. Would definetly dive again with this laid back and flexible dive shop!
