Finca Vela is a touch of luxury in a peaceful paradise. The cabins were outfitted with clean, comfortable bedding. The food was creative and magnificent. The hosts were gracious and helpful. Our family of four with two young teens, enjoyed every moment. It is a gorgeous haven nestled on a serene bay that had us snorkeling, kayaking, swimming and playing all day long.
A beautifully thought out paradise. The lodges are all individual with their own quirks and vibe. The central lounge is full of games, great cocktails and laughter. The boat house is relaxing, open to the breeze with all the toys you need, pool chairs to relax and great snorkeling. The staff is amazing, attentive, helpful and very accommodating. (We stayed with a 5&7 year old). The property is beautifully taken care of and the walking tour of the property allows you to appreciate your 5 star meals even more. Seeing the fruits come from the trees to our smoothies was something. I can't say enough good things about our stay, we didn't want to leave.
Wow! We were, and still are, blown away by our experience at Finca Vela Lodge. Every aspect of our stay far exceeded our expectations. From the on-time and very nice boat pick-up at the Almirante Marina to the warm departure on our last day and everything in between, Finca Vela was AMAZING! The Rana Verde lodge was home to my wife and I, as well as our three kids ages 11, 15 and 17. There was plenty of room and we had the private downstairs while the kids enjoyed their time together upstairs. The lodge was gorgeous and the view from the lodge was amazing. To be able to have this view for our breakfasts and dinners was so relaxing. While mentioning meals, they blew us away with the freshness, gourmet quality and abundance that was served. We had the best filet and sweet potatoes ever with the most perfect view. Oh, and drinks…. The beverages were out of this world delicious! From the fresh fruit smoothies the whole family could enjoy to the exquisite cocktails, we couldn’t have asked for better drinks. There was plenty for us to do on site for the two days. We all enjoyed paddle boarding and the snorkeling just off the dock was great too. Our boys enjoyed jumping from the top level of the dock.
What an incredible paradise! Perfect location, 5* bungalow with breathtaking views, great snorkeling & amazing kayaking in the middle of the mangrovs. And such lovely hosts! What else could you wish for!? And the food: best on the whole trip. Simple, yet innovative, mainly just locally (meaning on the very same island) produced ingredients, magnificiently prepared. Kids absolutely loved everything too. Merci et à très bientôt on espère!
We loved our time at Finca Vela so much that we immediately rebooked after our first stay. Marie, Christophe, Mathéo & Arthur gave us such a warm and friendly welcome as soon as we stepped off the boat and continued to be great hosts, chefs and cocktail makers throughout our stays. They were always on hand but never overbearing, the perfect hosts. The lodge itself has so much to offer, from well thought out & comfortable rooms, the fantastic views from the restaurant / bar, the refreshing pool, the beautiful gardens and not least the amazing jetty where you can snorkel, kayak & paddle board in the calm water. Marie’s cooking is second to none and we’re still dreaming about her lobster bisque. Finca Vela Lodge has been our favourite accommodation in our travels so far and we would love to come back.
