This place is paradise! I wish i could give it bonus stars!The view of the ocean and bird island are stunning and the property is laid out so that you soak in the view at every turn. I picked this place because I wanted a quiet spot with a pool & view. It was perfect in every way. The food was delicious and creative. The staff was LOVELY! A lot of them are travelers on a journey. They taught yoga, waited tables and brought such joy! Niko (one of the managers and bar tenders) was so warm and lovey, knew all the guests by name, and made some of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted! This place was exactly what I needed when I needed it and I plan on bringing everyone I know back!
This is the most fantastic little paradise on earth - made with big respect for the nature around it. We stayed there for 10 days and could have stayed even longer. The resort is placed the most amazing place out in the jungle fare away from everything. It has lovely rooms, lovely staff, lovely view, lovely surrounding, and amazing beaches around where you can be all alone. I would recommend everybody to take a stop by and enjoy the delicious healthy food, tasty drinks, the many beautiful animals and the tranquility in the jungle.
One of the most magical places I have every stayed at. The eco conscious chic bungalows are beautifully designed and the location could not be more stunning with a soft sea breeze and sounds of waves crashing and hundreds of birds. We saw toucans and sloths from our open air bathroom and porch. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the daily meal options are delicious, fresh and eclectic. We met people from all around the world and it has sort of an upscale hostel vibe which we really loved for the sense of community. We enjoyed drinking delicious cocktails and playing board games provided in the stunning deck bar. Nearby there are beautiful beaches and our boat trip out to bird island was an experience of a lifetime. Will definitely return to this beautiful escape when we can. Thank you Bird Island Bungalows for running such a 5 star establishment and supporting the planet.
What can I say to fully describe the experience? The location is remote and beautiful with amazing nearby beaches, flowers and gardens everywhere. The wildlife is awesome, you'll see howler monkeys, sloths, frogs, fish, hermit crabs, birds, lizards galore for the lizard freaks like me. The food and drinks are simply amazing. Thought they must have Chef Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen, but it's actually Chef Kevin and you can tell he puts care into every meal. Before booking we read about the food being great but weren't prepared for actually how fabulous it was. To make things even better everything is locally sourced and feels so healthy. Even the alcoholic beverages make you feel healthy. The Bartender Nico puts just as much devotion into his drinks as the Chef does the food. Hands down the best drinks(alcoholic and non) we've had in Panama. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill, not a party scene but a wonderful jungle get away to escape the city. They provide kayaks, canoes and snorkeling equipment and you can go all the way out to bird island and be on your own time instead of having to stay with a tour guide. The staff even cares enough to send people to check on you all the way out there. Celeste was very helpful and informative. The pool overlooking the ocean was very nice to hang out in and sip on some drinks. They offer shuttling to starfish beach included and daily yoga sessions. Honestly the only reason we left is because we already had reservations in another place for a few days. We even did consider letting those reservations go but decided to go on to the next adventure. This place is a paradise, they're doing great work and anytime we return to Isla Colòn we will be back.
A truly stunning resort and relaxing escape! As a traveling, working professional it is not easy to find such a tranquil retreat where your every need is taken care of without even having to ask. Bird Island's hospitality ensures your stay is impeccable with gorgeous accommodations, knowledgeable and inviting staff, delicious and exciting food and drinks, and of course amazing scenery to truly unwind! I was impressed by the availability to find peace and privacy with my husband on the gorgeous beaches, plethora of nature walks (with sloths!) or our Casita while also enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, yoga shala and poolside bar to energize. Truly unforgettable and can't wait to go back!
