This location is serene paradise! You can walk outside and jump directly into the ocean. While it is not a luxurious experience (it is indoor/outdoor living) you truly have an opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff are all incredibly helpful and attentive. The food on-site is good but not overly impressive - I recommend exploring local Bocas restaurants when you can. It is also important to note that it is a remote location (20 minute boat ride from the main island) and you may consider getting back to the hotel before dark to be extra cautious. Highly recommend for couples trips!
Overall had a good time. Went with my adult daughter in May. My biggest concern was not having AC. That ended up not being an issue the breeze was amazing at night. Of course it was mid May. Could be different another time of year. The Lodges could updated but overall not bad. My biggest issue was the service in general. Arrived at the island and was told we missed the boat that was complimentary, told wait several more hours or pay to get my own taxi. Food was overpriced and ok. Staff was ok. Did really enjoy snorkeling and kayaking. Did an all day boat tour. Really enjoyed that. Went to star fish beach that was nice. Had to pay for water taxi their. I would think that could have been included. It’s about a 10 minute boat ride.
Quite a special and historical place to sleep in bocas, though it is a bit old but still it has some charm. I would recommend spending one or two nights here. Note that you need to move by boat everywhere. The hotel has a taxi service included to pick you up from Bocas town.
Tried this place out while on a vacation with my wife & two teenage daughters. Great experience from the time we got to the dock from the airport & arrived to the resort until we left back to the dock 4 days later. Food, service, & accomodations were great. Loved the laid back atmosphere & island life for a few days. We did an excursion on day 2 & went with a tour guide they recommended named Esteban. I don't think the island tour could have been any better & non commercial. Very happy with everything & appreciate the hospitality.
Wow wow wow. Loved every minute of being at punta caracol. They have done an amazing job of conserving the area. This place is a gift, honestly! If you are looking for air conditioning and luxury this might not be the place for you, but if you want a truly authentic experience in a place where you can tell the owners respect the environment, then this is a gem! Hope you love it as much as we did.
