Amazing place! I’ve traveled and stayed all over the world, and this was one of my favorite properties. It’s not a huge corporate owned hotel, in a good way, with a very personal feel. The staff and owners (I only met Simon - thanks Simon!) are incredibly nice and completely take care of you. It’s outside of the town center, but I am so glad I chose this area. There’s far less people, has the best beach on the island only steps away (which feels like it’s a private beach, with food and drink service!) but has constant truck taxis that run back and forth to town. The property is incredibly well manicured, the rooms look to be newly renovated, and it’s a huge bonus having a restaurant and bar right there. There’s great hiking around the area, sloths, howler monkeys, and incredible waves (be aware you won’t be wading in calm waters, but that’s what makes it spectacular). Stay here and you’ll thank me. Maybe in person, because I may ask Simon to move in. Cheers.
Oasis B&B exceeded our expectations! Not only did Simon and Wendy greet us with open arms, they also helped us get to the island when our flight was cancelled the night before we were set to leave Panama. Wendy went out of her way to help find us another flight, so we didn't have to miss our reservation. The staff was beyond amazing, so friendly and helpful! Their restaurant is by far the best food on the island! The room was super cozy and clean; with a great view of the jungle where we saw monkeys and sloths from our bed! Simon and Wendy were super helpful with giving us a list of places to go and things to see. They even help you get a taxi! I could rave on and on about our stay, truly one of our best vacations yet! Thank you for the hospitality- Kristen and Tony
My wife and I are frequent travelers and we’ve had plenty of experiences all over the world. I must say that Oasis is one of the best places we’ve stayed at throughout our journey. Place is situated in a fantastic location between the beach and the jungle, with an incredible view. Buses to the local town pass every hour, you can call a cab if you want to. There is a wonderful hike trail that runs all the way to the west side of the island. The entire place is very clean, hygienic and well taken care of. The service overall is excellent and they serve great food, the view restaurant drove a hard bargain for us to go and eat anywhere else (which is something we usually like to do, go out n try different restaurants). The menu changes daily which makes it almost never boring. To top it all off, the owners and the entire staff are very friendly with great sense of humor, everybody is helpful and you feel that they genuinely care about you having a great experience. Nobody is trying to push any extra ”business” on you, ask for advice and you will get it, no strings attached which made us feel very comfortable. Simon and Wendy, thank you so much, we truly had an outstanding experience at your place and we can’t wait to return. You guys are awesome!
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for in what would turn out to be a Masterclass in hospitality. Wendy and Simon the owners take great pride in what they have built here, and personally like to make sure that you are having the most relaxing time possible. They leave their own touches around the hotel, and the restaurant (The view.) Fish and chips on the menu once a week and beer bottle coolers, while bringing their Yorkshire hospitality to the fore. The breakfasts are huge, with fresh local bread, choice of eggs and ham and meats, we were never hungry. Being this remote on the island it was great that this restaurant didn’t leave us feeling wanting. Great seafood dishes- lime shrimps and tuna were great and the ‘Fish and chips’ using sea-bream in a beer batter was fantastic - almost worth the airfare alone ;) Homely desserts such as lime pie and banoffee pie were a fantastic way to finish the meal, and wrapped up by an attentive host who made sure everything was to our liking. Brill. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. We had the waves room which also featured an amazing view of the garden and sea, which was perfect to wake up and go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. The hotel is on Bluff, a perfectly serene and remote part of the island, so if you want to relax this is perfect, and has lovely walking available up and down the beach. Honestly if it wasn’t the opposite side of the world we’d be coming again soon, what a fantastic stay. MOT.
During our 3 day stop at Bocas del Mar, we enjoyed 2x dinner at The View. They were able to have different choices on the different evenings. Nice local (quality) products, both fish and meat. The view is ‘wow’. From the restaurant you’re able to see the sea. We ordered a appetizer, main and dessert, with a good chardonnay. Prices are really good. Simon and his team really make you feel welcome.
